Akinlolu Ojo Biography

Akinlolu Ojo, MD, PhD
Transplant Epidemiologist

Akinlolu OjoDr. Ojo is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Transplant Epidemiologist at the University of Michigan. He has worked extensively on the epidemiology of kidney disease and the access and outcomes of kidney transplantation in African-Americans. His work on the outcomes of renal transplantation in African-Americans earned him a Young Investigator Award from the American Society of Transplantation (AST) in 1995. Dr. Ojo is currently a recipient of the Clinical Scientist Development Award from the NIDDK to study the evaluation and selection of living renal donors and is a Co-Principal Investigator on the African-American Study of Kidney and Hypertension (AASK).
