Robert Merion, MD
Clinical Transplant Director
Robert M. Merion, M.D., is the President of Arbor Research Collaborative for Health
and Professor of Surgery at the University of Michigan. He has been a member of the faculty
at the University of Michigan since 1986, Director of the University of Michigan's ASTS-approved kidney,
pancreas and liver transplantation fellowship program since 1991, and has served as Chief of the
Division of Transplantation and Director of the University of Michigan Transplant Center.
Dr. Merion has been the principal investigator or co-investigator on 31 externally funded clinical,
basic science, and Internet-based research studies over the past 20 years.
